Lite-On Sees Further Growth in 2Q13 Revenues
Lite-On Technology's consolidated revenue for the first quarter of 2013 was decreased by 11.6% but the company expects growth for the second quarter.
During a conference with the company's investors, Lite-On's CEO Warren Chen said that he expects consolidated revenue for the second quarter to grow by up to 10%.
The company expects LED lighting, compact camera modules, SSDs, automotive electronics and power supplies to become major sources of revenue growth in 2013.
The company's IT business group accounted for 39.5% of Lite-On Technology's first-quarter consolidated revenues, LED devices, CCMs, chassis of hand-held devices together for 32.4%, optical disc drives (ODDs) and SSDs for 22.1%, LED lighting products and devices as well as green energy products for 6.0%.
With affiliated Lite-On IT combined with Lite-On Technology, the former's ODDs, SSDs and automotive electronics are included in the latter's consolidated accounting. While ODD revenues have kept falling, SSD revenues for the first quarter hiked on year by 260%.
Lite-On also expects orders for power supplies to grow in the second half of 2013 due to application to cloud computing.
