Protected Disc Tests

- Reading Tests

For this test we used a variety of copy protected discs and tried to backup them to the hard disk with Alcohol 120%. First we checked the speed of LiteOn on the image making process.We used the default settings of Alcohol 120% according to the protection of each disc.

In the table below are illustrated the average reading speeds for each protection scheme, when making the image to the disc (max speed selected):

LiteOn performed well with all games we tested. With the SafeDisk v2 protected discs the drive needed more time than on normal reading to complete the task but this does not effect the validness of the image.

- Writing Tests

LiteOn is a very good copy protection writer. The drive performed fast and managed to make working copies of all the discs we checked. The SafeDisc v2.90 protection was successfully handled and the produced backup worked without any special contribution by the software (Bypass EFM error).
