Writing Quality Tests - C1 / C2 Error Measurements

The C1 / C2 error rate was measured for the recorded discs, burned during the previous writing tests (jitter). The software used was Plextools v2.11 and the reader was the Plextor Premium drive.

• Taiyo Yuden 48x recorded at 16x

• Taiyo Yuden 48x recorded at 20x

• Taiyo Yuden 48x recorded at 24x

• MAM 48x recorded at 24x

• Maxell 48x recorded at 24x

• MMore 48x recorded at 24x

• Plextor HS-RW 10x recorded at 10x

The quality measurements of the discs showed that the LiteOn drive can be safely used with some media for quality writing tasks at the maximum writing speed of 24X, while others gave back increased C1/C2 errors at the end of their surface. According to the measurements, TY and MMore can be used for quality writing.
