- Writing Quality
In order to test the Memorex D² External writing quality, we used the LiteOn SOHD-167T and the Plextor PX-712A drives.
- Verbatim 2.4X DVD+R DL @ 2.4X
Using CD/DVD Speed, we got a good scan. Only a small speed dropdown was reported near the "layer switch". Using Plextools, we got a very good scan with low PI error levels.
- Traxdata 2.4X DVD+R DL @ 2.4X
Although Traxdata media did not perform as well as Verbatim media, the disc was readable with the LiteON drive. Plextools indicated PI error levels far below the 280 limit. Again, the Memorex D² External recorder showed very good performance.
- Summary
Writing quality with Double Layer media was very good. Best results came with Verbatim media.
