Micron Releases New Solid State Drive For Data Centers
Micron Technology on uesday announced a new enterprise-class solid state drive (SSD) designed for data center storage platforms.
Micron says its new M500DC SATA SSD has been designed to provide performance and data protection fthe eatures of an enterprise-class drive at an affordable price.
Designed to manage the massive amount of digital information, the M500DC is built from the ground up using Micron's 20nm MLC NAND Flash technology and fifth generation custom firmware. It incorporates all of Micron?s XPERT features set (RAIN, ARM/OR, ReCal and eDPP) to increase reliability.
The M500DC is available in 120, 240, 480 and 800GB capacities and 1.8-inch, 5-millimeter (mm) and 2.5-inch, 7mm SATA form factors. The drive is currently in production and is sold direct to OEMs and through Micron's distribution partners.
