North Korea Blocks Foreigners' Access To Facebook, Twitter
Most North Koreans don't have access to a computer, and those who do are restricted to a nationwide intranet known as Kwangmyong, which is the sole source of information and propaganda, bringing citizens reports on activities of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the country’s leadership and scientific achievements.
In September, N. Korean authorities banned foreigners working in the country from using Wi-Fi, in order to "ensure the country’s security." Heavy fines or confiscation of equipment were threatened for non-compliance.
