HP Smartwatch Looks Classic, Coming Next Week
HP has focus on classic design rather than a futuristic touchscreen for its first smartphone, designed by American fashion designer Michael Bastian and coming on November 7. Called the MB Chronowing, the smartwatch is very similar to classic watch designs. It features a 44mm stainless steel case and displays, besides time and date, notifications for recently received text messages, emails and calendar notifications.
By default, the watch displays the current weather on the bottom left side as well as the current temperature. It can also live stream everything from stocks to sports scores. Ten functions, including data and stopwatch, can be controlled with a touch of a button. On the right side of the watch, the user will find three buttons that handle functions like activating the backlit screen, controlling music functions and flipping through the watch’s menus.
The smartwatch connects to any iPhone 4S or higher and Android OS 4.3+ devices. It offers an up to a week battery life, it is water resistant up to 50 m and will automatically adjust the time when entering a new time zone.
The MB Chronowing will be also available in a limited edition version featuring an all-black PVD plating, sapphire crystal, and an authenticity card signed by Michael Bastian.
Only sold on luxury site Gilt this holiday season, the MB Chronowing will be available for $349 with the option of a leather, nylon or rubber strap. The limited edition, all-black model will be available for $649.
