Sonic to Provide MyDVD for HP DVD-Writers
Sonic Solutions announced today that it will provide Hewlett-Packard Company
with Sonic's MyDVD software for recording and authoring DVD-Videos. Under an
agreement between the two companies, Sonic will be the exclusive supplier of
DVD-video authoring software to be bundled with HP's DVD+RW drive, which is
expected to ship later this summer.
``HP's DVD-writer, along with Sonic's MyDVD software, will allow consumers to
create their own custom DVD-Video discs with unprecedented speed and ease of
use,'' said Robert J. Doris, president of Sonic Solutions. ``HP is the clear
market leader in recordable CD drives, and we are delighted to be collaborating
with them to deliver a breakthrough video solution with their upcoming DVD+RW
drives.''
