Soundpeats Capsule3 Pro Plus
4. Conclusion
The SoundPeats Capsule3 Pro+ is a nice looking product and with the included three different silicon tips you will find the comfort to wear them for a long time. There is only one color available (black with gold ascents) and either male/female will look nice. Due to the used technology, compared with other SoundPeats products is larger, however, it also packs more technology and features.
Passing to the ease of use, the SoundPeats Android app is basic, meaning it works as it is supposed to do. There are no fancy functions, you can update firmware and change the touch functions according to your liking. We hope that Soundpeats will continue evolving the App with more features shortly. As for the earbuds themselves, we found them to fit well in our ears with the stock (M) silicon tip. If you have problems with the stock tip, use one of the included, and hopefully, you will find your match.
Starting with call quality, we found that despite the 6mics, the calling quality was average, while ANC seems to be basic, despite the claim from SoundPeats about AI. We found that compared with earbuds from Samsung or Apple, its one step down.
On the other hand, the Capsule3 Pro+ excels in sound quality and sound dynamics, the used xMEM drivers seem to work their magic. You need to play a while with the App equalizer to fine-tune them since they support a wide range of frequencies so you need to extend them according to your taste. The default sound profile mostly aims for High/medium frequencies and not Bass. The Soundstage is not super wide nor super tight, some may find it lacking but again all is personal taste. To get the best from the Capsule3 Pro+ you need to use a streaming service/music has has LDAC support, else using normal content won't add much to the overall experience.
The rechargeable case seems to hold good charge levels, it's nice to look at and touch, however doesn't give you the best grip in the world. Real-life battery level should be around 4-4.30 hours around 50-60% sound level, using the LDAC feature will increase power consumption and therefore drop battery life. There is also a multi-point connection up to two different BT devices.
Concluding we found the Capsule3 Pro+ a product that should be considered by Audiophile users, who are looking to get support for LDAC codec music (either local or streaming) and need what the xMEM drivers have to offer. We hope that SoundPeats will further improve ANC and Call quality with future firmware updates.
