Tesco to Release Smartphone This Year
British retailer Tesco plans to launch its first own-brand smartphone by the end of the year, following the release of the successful Hudl tablet.
The smartphone will run on Google's Android OS and will come with pre-installed with Tesco services. Tecso says that it will be comparable to the higher-end of the market although its price will be low.
Tesco's first low-end tablet first tablet, the Hudl, has sold half a million units so far. An updated version of it - the Hudl 2 - will be released in September.
