Micron Announces New 2600 NVMe SSD

Micron Announces New 2600 NVMe SSD

Enterprise & IT Jun 27,2025 0

Micron recently announced the Micron 2600 SSD. This model, according to Micron, provides better read and write performance than competitor value TLC and QLC client SSDs, making it ideal for daily PC computing storage requirements. Available with Micron’s innovative Adaptive Write Technology (AWT), the 2600 SSD delivers superior write performance by providing a multitiered SLC, TLC, and QLC dynamic caching mode solution. The 2600 SSD is built with Micron G9 QLC NAND, the industry’s first ninth-generation QLC NAND. G9 NAND helps to deliver remarkable PCMark® 10 benchmark scores that surpass other competitive value drives to enable a superior user experience.

Benefits
Class-leading performance pushes everyday computing to the next level
The 2600 SSD delivers unrivaled Gen4 sequential and random write speeds, with up to 63% and 49% better sequential and random write performance. It easily surpasses competitor QLC and value TLC SSDs.

Our storage enables more productivity for your daily applications
Achieving best-in-class PCMark 10 benchmark scores, the 2600 SSD outperforms competitor QLC SSDs by up to 37% and surpasses value TLC SSDs by up to 44%

Innovation helps drive superior SSD performance and user experience
Built with advanced Micron G9 QLC NAND, the 2600 SSD offers fast I/O speeds and a six-plane architecture for enhanced parallel processing.

Adaptive Write Technology
Micron AWT enhances SSD performance by managing how data is written to the QLC NAND. It improves write speeds using faster SLC and TLC NAND modes while maintaining QLC’s economic advantages. By dynamically adjusting data writing modes, AWT writes large files faster, helping to bridge the sequential write performance issues often seen in legacy QLC SSDs.

The Micron 2600 outperforms competitive value TLC and QLC client SSDs. It delivers excellent performance and user experience for daily PC storage and effectively replaces value TLC drives in new OEM designs.

The Micron 2600 NVMe SSD is now shipping to OEMs globally in 22x30 mm, 22x42 mm, and 22x80 mm form factors, with capacities ranging from 512 GB to 2 TB. The variation of smaller form factors, capacity options and a single-sided design is perfect for handhelds, ultra-thin laptops and workstations. For example, the compact 2 TB, 22x30 mm form factor is ultra-small and high-capacity for use in limited-space designs such as handheld gaming devices.
