Popular communications app Viber has been updated to V5.0 to allow to video calling to iOS and Android mobiles. The Viber 5.0 update allows iOS and Android users to place free video calls with other Viber users anywhere in the world. Users on iOS can communicate with those on Android and vice versa. Users can also send video communications to PCs.

Viber has been copeting with Skype and allows users to ,communicate via voice, text, and video. Viber belongs Japan-based e-commerce company Rakutenn.

In addition to adding video calls, Viber now includes QR code scanning for quickly adding contacts.
