WidowPC Races to Ship First SLI Notebook

Smartphones Feb 9,2006 0

WindowPC's Sting 919 will be possibly the first notebook for gamers that will offer an SLI graphics card configuration as well as a 19" display. Based in Austin, Texas, WidowPC has attracted the gamers community with its recently shipped first dual core CPU laptop based on the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+.

The company has released some information about its plans to release the first SLI notebook equipped with a 19" fast response display. Codenamed "Sting 919", the notebook will be powered by an AMD processor, as well as a dual PCI-Express that will offer the increased bus bandwidth required by Nvidia's SLI system.

According to the company's website, the SLI laptops are still in development stage so the provided technical details are limited. For sure, the WidowPC team will have to deal with the increased power and cooling requirements of an SLI notebook.
