Youtube Upload Limit Increases to 15 Minutes
Youtube today announced that it is increasing the time limit of uploaded videos to 15 minutes, from the 10 minutes allowed until now.
Youtube is also encouraging users to take full advantage of this new time limit by making a video of their "15 minutes of fame." On August 4, youtube will sellect some of these uploaded videos tagged as "yt15minutes" and will display them on the YouTube homepage.
Youtube added that they had spent significant resources on creating and improving their Content ID system and many other powerful tools for copyright owners. Now, all of the major U.S. movie studios, music labels and over 1,000 other global partners of Youtube use Content ID to manage their content on YouTube.
All those users who had uploaded a video that was previously rejected for being too long have to go into "My Videos" and delete it before attempting to upload it again, Youtube added.
