Zenith announces new Hard Disc and DVD recorders
Marking its entry into the emerging digital home entertainment category, Zenith Electronics Corporation introduced its first DVD recorder and hard-disc recorder at the 2003 Consumer Electronics Show today in Las Vegas.
These models introduce Zenith customers to the next generation of home video recording, enabling them to digitally record favorite shows automatically, pause live TV on command, and record their own DVDs. The new models are the XBH312 DVD/PVR combo and the DVR313 DVD recorder.
The XBH312 DVD/PVR combo combines a DVD/CD player with a generous 40- gigabyte hard drive, making it easy to record, play, store and edit hours of video programs. The XBH312 features an internal NTSC tuner for high- quality program reception, and an electronic program guide to make finding and recording favorite TV programs almost as easy as watching them.
Viewers can record one program while watching another, program TV shows for later recording, show still images in thumbnail format, and enjoy a variety of editing and file management features. Like Zenith's DVD players, the XBH312 includes a single-disc, progressive scan DVD player fully compatible with DVDs, CDs, CD-R and CD-RW discs, and MP3 files.
The DVR313 DVD recorder enables viewers to record onto popularly available DVD-R/RW discs, and also includes an internal DVD/CD player. Designed for convenience, the DVR313 makes it easy to record, play back and store hours of programming. It can record in 5.1-channel Dolby DigitalĀ® Sound, and features a variety of video editing functions. Its progressive-scan DVD player is fully compatible with DVDs, CDs, CD-R and CD-RW discs, and MP3 files.
Both the XBH312 DVD/PVR combo and DVR313 DVD recorder will be available in the third quarter at a suggested price of $499.
