Toshiba Mobile Display Introduces New LCD Panels With Wide Viewing Angle Technology for Mobile Devices
Toshiba Mobile Display today announced the development of two new high-definition displays for mobiles and tablets, featuring wide viewing angles.
The newly-developed "Soludina" LCD panels adopt a new display mode that uses a pixel configuration suitable for high-definition displays and is able to reproduce sharp images across a wide range of extended viewing angles.
Available later this year, the new 4.3-inch and 7-inch modules support resolutions of 1,280 x 720 p (342ppi) and 1,280 x 800 p (217ppi) respectively, a color depth of approximately 16,777,216 colors, a 800:1 contrast ratio and they are rated 71% NTSC color gamut.
The company claims that the new modules are offering sharp, high-definition images at viewing angles of 176 degrees (contrast ratio of 10:1).
