AMD Launches Next-Generation AMD FirePro Graphics Card
AMD today announced immediate availability of the AMD FirePro W600 professional graphics card, the company's first professional graphics card to leverage Graphics Core Next architecture and 28nm production technology.
The new graphics card solution has been designed to address the need for large, dynamic screens used in the advertising, entertainment, operations, security, training and video-conferencing markets.
The AMD FirePro W600 is a single slot graphics card that supports up to six high-resolution displays or projectors through its six mini DisplayPort connectors. It is equipped with 2GB of GDDR5 graphics memory, supports two HD video streams via AMD's Unified Video Decoder and its projection overlap capability creates one image. AMD also plans to support projection edge blending and image warping in Q4 of 2012.
In addition, AMD PowerTune technology dynamically optimizes power consumption during operation and AMD ZeroCore Power technology that provides reduced power consumption at idle.
