US ITC Clears Huawei, Nokia, ZTE in InterDigital Patent Dispute
The U.S. International Trade Commission ruled that that Huawei Technologies, Nokia and ZTE did not infringe cell phone patents owned by InterDigital Inc.
The Commission instituted this investigation on August 31, 2011, based on a complaint filed by InterDigital, a wireless research and development company, which alleged violations of seven patents used to make 3G wireless devices.
"Today's determination by the ITC is extremely disappointing, said William Merritt, the chief executive of InterDigital. "We believe the commission's claim constructions are plainly wrong, and we look forward to appealing the determination."
