LTR-40125S is using Zone-CLV technology when recording CD-R media, which starts at 20X from the beginning, it increases speed in the following fashion: 24X after 8 minutes, 32X after 28 minutes, then 40X after 53 minutes. LTR-40125S incorporates Buffer-Under-Run protection utility that is must-have among high speed CD burners, and the drive is shipped with Buffer-Under-Run protection function always enabled that could provide automatic writing strategy and running OPC.

LTR-40125S also includes the "redefined" SMART-BURN (Smart Monitoring & Adapting Recording Technology for BURNing) feature with this fastest burner.
