Acer Announces New Notebooks, Esports Platform, Chromebooks and Monitors at IFA 2019
Acer today announced its ConceptD Pro series notebook family, the upgraded Swift series, the Planet9 Esports Platform and new Chromebooks.
ConceptD Pro
ConceptD Pro notebook family Acer's ConceptD Pro series notebook family comes with NVIDIA Quadro GPUs and 9th Gen Intel Core processors. The Pro series with Windows 10 feature amber backlit keyboards. A new ConceptD monitor, the CM2241W, was also announced.
As part of the RTX Studio laptop program, ConceptD Pro series notebooks with NVIDIA Quadro RTX GPUs are among the first notebooks to support real-time ray tracing and advanced AI capabilities.
The ConceptD 9 Pro sits at the top of the Pro series and is a creator notebook thanks to Acer's CNC-machined Ezel Aero Hinge. This allows the 17.3-inch 4K display (3840 x 2160) to flip, extend and recline for convenient collaboration between team members. The display is PANTONE-Validated and covers 100% of the Adobe RGB color gamut with Delta E <1 color accuracy.
The ConceptD 9 Pro features up to 9th Gen Intel Core i9 processors for multi-threaded performance and up to NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 graphics aimed at AI/deep learning, engineering simulations and large animation studios. A Wacom EMR stylus is also included and magnetically attaches to the ConceptD 9 Pro. The stylus delivers accurate control with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. In addition to sketching and drawing, users can take notes or highlight key points as they develop concepts together. The ConceptD 9 Pro is part of the RTX Studio program.

Shipping with a 15.6-inch 4K display, Acer's ConceptD 7 Pro is designed for on-the-go performance and part of the RTX Studio program. At 17.9 mm thin and weighing 2.1 kg, its sleek design makes it perfect for users seeking a balance between power and portability. It features up to a 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 GPU options. In addition, the ConceptD Palette offers a UI for quickly adjusting preferred color profiles and monitoring system controls.
The ConceptD 7 Pro will be available in EMEA in November starting at EUR 2,599; in North America in September, starting at USD 2,699.99; and in China in Q4, starting at RMB 24,999.
Part of the RTX Studio program and available in 15.6- and 17.3-inch IPS display options, both with a 4K UHD resolution, the new ConceptD 5 Pro series is designed for complex CAD design, animation and simulation workflows. A metal chassis offers durability and the PANTONE-Validated display is built for creators, with a wide color gamut that matches 100% of the Adobe RGB color space for precise color replication.

The most accessible member of the ConceptD Pro series, the ConceptD 3 Pro is for digital natives such as photographers. Equipped with up to 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processors and NVIDIA Quadro T1000 graphics, the ConceptD 3 Pro allows users to process all their media with true color reproduction and runs quiet at less than 40 dB. Users can login via a touch of the built-in fingerprint reader through Windows Hello for easy and more secure access.

Aiming also at creators who appreciate design, Acer released the updated ConceptD 5 and ConceptD 3 notebooks. Both featuring up to 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, the new ConceptD 5 comes in both 15- and 17-inch display options and has been upgraded with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPUs. The ConceptD 3 looks clean with its optional pristine white finish and runs silently. Its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU provides plenty of power on the go.

The new ConceptD CM2241W is a desktop monitor designed for users who want to add an external display to their workstation. It features a slim bezel, color accuracy supporting 99% of the Adobe RGB color gamut and smooth viewing with a refresh rate up to 75 Hz.
New Swift 5 and Swift 3 notebooks
Designed for performance on-the-go, the Acer Swift 5 (SF514-54T/SF514-54GT) and Swift 3 (SF314-57/SF314-57G) notebooks deliver all that's necessary in an ultra-portable notebook: a sleek chassis, stylish design and slim bezels with performance and battery life. Aimed at students and families, the new Acer Aspire C all-in-one desktop series are space-saving PCs with thin bezels.
The 14-inch Acer Swift 5 has been known to be the lightest in its class since its inception, with a chassis made from a combination of magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloys. The latest generation weighs just 990 grams with a new discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics option, or even less with solely newly updated integrated Intel Iris Pro graphics while measuring just 14.95 mm thin. The screen features a three-side narrow bezel with a high screen-to-body ratio of 86.4%.

The lightweight Acer Swift 3 notebook has a 14-inch Full HD IPS screen, is available in steel gray and millennial pink, and weighs just 1.19 kg (2.62 lbs). The Swift 3 packs a lot of power into its 15.95 mm thin chassis with up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor with Intel Iris Plus graphics and an optional discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU. It also includes up to 512 GB PCIe Gen 3x4 SSD storage, 16 GB LPDDR4X RAM, Thunderbolt 3 and dual-band Intel Wi-Fi 6. It delivers up to 12.5 hours of battery life and offers fast charging capabilities: 30 minutes charging can provide 4 hours of battery life in video playback conditions.
The Swift 3 brings images and videos to life through the use of thin 4.37 mm bezels and an 84% screen-to-body ratio. For further color enhancement the Swift 3 also includes Acer Color Intelligence and Acer ExaColor Technology.

With its space saving and elegant design, the 6.8 mm ultra-thin Acer Aspire C all-in-one comes with stylish looks and plenty of practical features for both students and the whole family. It is available with 27-inch, 24-inch, and 22-inch Full HD IPS screen options, all powered by 10th Gen Intel Core processors and an optional discrete NVIDIA MX130 GPU. With ample storage space of up to 1 TB via a M.2 NVMe SSD and up to 2 TB with a 2.5-inch HDD, and 32 GB of DDR4-2666 memory, the Aspire C series is the ideal all-in-one for multiple users with a wide range of needs.
Privacy is safeguarded with the option to close the camera shutter when the webcam is not in use and an HDMI-out port offers the option for a second screen. There are four USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports for connecting peripherals. Both young eyes and old are protected with Acer Vision Care, a series of technologies such as Acer Bluelight Shield, which lessens blue light exposure, and Flickerless technology which reduces screen flickering for added comfort.

Planet9 Esports Platform
Acer also today unveiled Planet9, an esports platform. Planet9 is an open community that allows gamers to build their team and train. It is currently in closed beta, and will enter open beta on January 30, 2020.
Planet9 opens up esports to amateur and casual players seeking to participate, allowing them to learn from the pros, understand their strengths and weaknesses, connect with fellow gamers in the community, and participate in online tournaments.
The foundation of Planet9 is its community features, which allows gamers to meet and group with fellow gamers who are on the same path. They can add friends, follow people they are interested in, and receive recommendations on who they can play with based on game played and complementing skills. For teams, functions such as a chatroom and sharing of game tactics allow the group to bond and learn from each other.
Planet9 provides a series of features to help gamers level up their skills, whether to hire a coach to give individual guidance, play alongside veteran gamers, clock some more hours with friends at similar levels, or see advanced game statistics to track their performance.
- Coach: The Coach feature allows gamers to learn from pro players and skilled gamers. Gamers can select their ideal coach based on game statistics, language, rating, and hourly rate. Coaches can review the gamer's game statistics to tailor-make a course, enhanced by screen-sharing, video/voice chat, and VOD upload features to playback those moments that need perfecting.
- Carry: Gamers can work together with like-minded gamers to rank up while learning and improving their skills in the process. Hosts can embed their Twitch or YouTube livestreams to attract gamers and fans to team up with them for a carry session.
- Game Statistics: All of the player's gaming statistics are presented in a visualized, eye-catching dashboard. The data on wins, losses, kills, deaths, items purchased, gold farmed, etc. are used to pair the gamer with the most ideal coach and offer insights on ways to improve.
- Scrims: Planet9 offers interestingly competitive ways to practice or challenge in battlefields - either with the clan (team) or tribe (multiple clans). The Clan Scrims feature allows clans to request a scrim challenge against other clans, while the Tribe Wars feature allows tribes to participate in extensive competitions being set up every week for bonus and benefits on Planet9.
Planet9 can host tournaments from small to large scale, sponsored or official, and can be joined for a chance at fame, glory, and prizes. The platform pairs players of similar skill-level for matches or tournaments to ensure fair competition. When enough wins are accumulated, rewards such as gifts and prizes can be redeemed.

Predator Triton 300 Gaming Notebook and Predator Thronos Air Gaming Chair
Acer introduced the Predator Triton 300 gaming notebook, a Predator Triton 500 with a 300 Hz display, and the Predator Thronos Air gaming chair.
The Predator Triton 300 is the newest addition to the lightweight Triton line, powered by Windows 10. Just 2.3 kg (5.07 pounds), its aluminum chassis features the same subdued matte black design highlighted with blue lights and accents found on other Predator notebooks.
Up to a 9th Gen Intel Core i7 Processor is paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, and 16 GB of DDR4 2666Hz memory (upgradable to 32 GB). It will support up to two 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 and up to a 2 TB hard drive. Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX 1650 along with Killer Ethernet keeps the action moving quickly and lag-free.
A 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with a narrow bezel design includes a 144 Hz refresh rate and 3 ms overdrive response time. Audio is delivered with Waves Nx, which uses physical modeling to deliver a realistic listening experience by virtually mimicking the immersion of ultra-high-end speakers in a perfect acoustically-treated space.
The keyboard includes zoned RGB lighting and dedicated Turbo and Predator Sense keys. In addition, the WASD, arrow and dedicated keys are concave shaped and transparent.
The Predator Triton 300 also features the thermal design found on all Predator notebooks, including dual fans with Acer's 4th Gen AeroBlade 3D metal fan technology, CoolBoost technology, air intake and exhaust vents.

Now with a 300 Hz 15.6-inch Full HD display, the Predator Triton 500 is a powerful gaming notebook slimmed down to just 17.9 mm (0.70 inches) thin and weighing 2.1 kg (4.6 pounds). It has an all-metal chassis and narrow bezels measuring just 6.3 mm (0.25 inches) for a 81% body-to-screen ratio. The slim Triton 500 can easily be slipped in a backpack or briefcase, but once taken out and powered on, it takes advantage of the performance of up to a 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processor to become a gaming powerhouse.

The Predator Thronos Air, Acer's newest gaming "chair," is a gaming cave for hard core enthusiasts. The steel structure includes a chair, modular desk and monitor arm. Teal blue lighting emits a soft cool glow.
The chair can be adjusted to various angles (130 degrees inside cabin and 180 degrees outside the cabin). It even includes a massage function. The desk includes an adjustable keyboard and mouse tray, ensuring comfortable typing regardless of seating angle. A foot rest keeps feet elevated.
Capable of supporting up to three displays, the monitor arm can be manually raised and lowered with a handle located right below the middle monitor stand. In addition, a camera can be positioned right above the middle monitor.
To keep the area neat and organized, a platform for a gaming PC is located behind the chair, and a cable management system neatly stores cords and wires out of the way. In addition, Acer offers numerous customization options and upgrades, such as a seat stabilizer to prevent the chair from moving around during game sessions, a cup holder, a headset holder, a USB hub, and a camera.
The Predator Thronos Air will be available in Q4 in EMEA starting at EUR 8,975; in North America starting at USD 13,999; and in China starting at RMB 79,999.
Chromebooks
Acer also debuted four new Chromebooks that provide the performance, portability and battery life today's families, students and small business.
The new Acer Chromebook 315 (CB315-3H/3HT) and Acer Chromebook 314 (CB314-1H/1HT) can both be enjoyed in bright-light conditions thanks to their anti-glare displays.
The Acer Chromebook 315's 15.6-inch display and the Acer Chromebook 314's large 14-inch display are available with up to a Full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) display with IPS technology and wide viewing angles in both touch and non-touch models.
In addition, the Acer Chromebook 315 has a dedicated numeric keypad.
For those wanting a more compact solution to take on trips, Acer is offering two new 11.6-inch Chromebook options -- both are smaller in width and depth than a sheet of A4 paper (210 x 297mm).
The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (CP311-2H) has a convertible 360-degree design, so its 11.6-inch HD touchscreen display can be used in four different modes: tablet, notebook, display and tent. This allows family members to enjoy the small 1.2 kg device (2.62 pounds) in the way that fits their environment.
In addition, it features an Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glasstouch display that provides scratch resistance to further protect the device. The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 can be purchased with an optional Wacom EMR Stylus.
The Acer Chromebook 311 is the same compact size as its convertible counterpart, but in a traditional notebook design. It weighs 1.06 kg (2.34 pounds). The HD display features IPS technology and comes in touch (CB311-9HT) and non-touch (CB311-9H) options.
All four new Acer Chromebooks include two USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 ports -- one on each side -- for charging the Chromebook from the most convenient angle. The ports can also be used to charge the device as well as other products, transfer data quickly and connect to an HD display. In addition, the Chromebooks each have two USB Type-C ports, two USB 3.1 ports and a MicroSD card reader.
All of the new Chromebooks feature a front-facing HD webcam for video chats and Google Hangouts. The convertible Acer Chromebook Spin 311 also has the option for a world-facing camera for capturing 1080p video.
Users can stay connected to their network with Intel Gigabit WiFi and a 802.11ac wireless antenna with 2x2 MU-MIMO for wireless connections. Additionally, Bluetooth 5.0 delivers a wireless connection to peripherals.
All four new Acer Chromebooks deliver all-day performance. They are powered by the latest dual-core Intel Celeron N4000 or quad-core Intel Celeron N4100 processors. The Acer Chromebook 315 also offers the option for an Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processor.
The Acer Chromebook 315 can be configured with up to 128 GB eMMC storage and up to 8 GB dual-channel SDRAM. The Acer Chromebook 314 and Acer Chromebook Spin 311 can be configured with up to 64 GB of eMMC storage and 8 GB dual-channel SDRAM. The Acer Chromebook 311 offers up to 32 GB of eMMC storage and 4 GB of dual-channel SDRAM.
The Acer Chromebook 315 and Acer Chromebook 314 both deliver day-to-night battery life lasting up to 12.5 hours. The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 and Acer Chromebook 311 both last up to 10 hours.
All four new Acer Chromebooks feature the Google Assistant, run Chrome OS and will support Google Play at launch, so families will have access to Android and Chrome apps.

New Nitro XV3 Series Monitors
The new Acer Nitro XV3 series features four new monitors for gamers.
NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible, the new Nitro monitors enable Variable Refresh Rates (VRR) by default when connected to NVIDIA GeForce
GTX 10-Series and GeForce RTX 20-Series graphics cards to support dynamic refresh rates. These new IPS monitors also feature Adaptive-Sync technology and a fast response time of up to 1ms and Visual Response Boost (VRB).
The Nitro XV3 series feature Acer's latest Agile-Splendor technology, which utilizes panels with both fast liquid crystals as well as 99% sRGB wide color gamuts. The DisplayHDR 400-certified monitors offer response times of up to 1ms VRB (Visual Response Boost). With a refresh rate up to 240 Hz, gamers will be awed by greater visual fluidity and crystal clear graphics.
The Acer Nitro gaming monitors come in four configurations; two 27-inch and two 24.5-inch monitors:

All monitors feature Acer Game Mode, eight preset display modes to optimize the visuals for different types of content: Action, Racing, Sport, User, Standard, ECO, Graphic and Movie. This feature can be accessed through a hotkey or the On Screen Display (OSD) settings menu. The built-in black boost enables gamers to select from 11 black level options.
Acer VisionCare with Flickerless, BlueLightShield, ComfyView and low-dimming technologies make viewing more comfortable during long periods of gaming. The Acer Nitro XV3 series also has a stand with 20° swivel and tilt. A quick-release design lets you separate the monitor from its stand so it can be VESA wall-mounted to free up desk space.
