Acer announced that they ranked fourth with 6.2% marketshare during Q4 2004 in the worldwide desktop LCD monitor market according to DisplaySearch. Acer achieved the highest increase among the top five vendors with 87% quarter over quarter, which was well above the industry average of 26%.

Acer jumped from the Q3 2004 rank of No. 6 to the No. 4 spot in Q4 2004 due mainly to significant growth in unit shipments into EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and North America.
