Asus 1000HE Eee PC Available
Asus has made the new 1000HE Eee PC netbook available for pre-orders. The device offers an increased batter life and it is powered by the Atom N280 CPU.
It seems that netbooks will be among the few products that will survive the financial crisis. At least Asus keeps its promise to offer the new 1000HE Eee PC in time, as the company announced some months ago.
The Eee 1000HE is the fisr netbook that uses the Intel N280 processor, that it is supposed to offer better performance compared to the N270 CPU, at only 2.5 Watts of power. The result is an up to 9.5 hours of battery life, according to Asus. The Super Hybrid Engine as well as the 10-inch LED backlit LCD screen also contribute to low energy requirements of the new netbook.
A 92%-sized keyboard provides comfortable typing while the low (3.2lbs) overall weight of the device makes it easy to carry.
Connectivity options include 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth.
The product, which is currently available for pre-orders at a MSRP price of $400, is backed by one year of warranty.
