ATI Teams Up With Asus to Deliver New HDMI Notebook
Asus selects ATI's Mobility Radeon X1600 for its new W1J HDMI enabled notebook, to deliver the crispest image quality possible
ATI announced today that the new Asus W1J notebook, offering leading edge portable entertainment through HDMI for superior output support of digital video and audio, will use ATI's leading MobilityRadeon X1600 graphics processor. The Mobility Radeon X1600 also supports ATI's Avivo high definition video and display enhancement technology to ensure an eye-popping HD viewing experience is delivered every time.
ATI's Mobility Radeon X1600 is ideal for enabling the high definition, high quality visual experience necessary to take full advantage of the W1J's HDMI connectivity features. The W1J is one of the first to offer HDMI capabilities, which is the only industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface available on the market today. HDMI provides the optimal interface between any audio/video source, such as a DVD player, set-top box or A/V receiver and an audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV) or PC monitor, over a single cable.
As one of the first notebook computers with HDMI output support, the Asus W1J notebook is leading the industry by combining all of the computing power of a high-end notebook with next-generation multimedia capabilities. The W1J notebook provides users with a simple, single cable and user-friendly connector that replaces the maze of cabling found behind the traditional entertainment center.
ATI Technologies will be showcasing the Asus W1J at Computex, in Taipei, Taiwan from June 6th to 10th.
