Blackberry Previews Upcoming Passport Smartphone
Following the announcement of stronger than expected Q1 results, Blackberry CEO unveiled two new smartphones, including the "Passport" model that comes with a 1440x1440 pixels display.
Crackberry.com has published photos of the "Passport" device, which has a square 4.5-inch display running at 1,440 x 1,440. The device has also a fixed QWERTY keyboard directly below the display. BlackBerry says that its keys are touch sensitive and will respond to swipes and gestures as well as typing. This means that a user could control an app on the huge screen without touching the screen itself, simply by moving fingers over the keys instead.
BlackBerry is currently teasing the device ahead of an official launch in September.
The other device is the Blackberr "Classic" which looks like more like the old, popular BlackBerry smartphones like the Bold.
