The CDA2002 Multi Drive Analyzer - Two Analyzers in One Standalone Package

The CDA2002 Multi Drive Analyzer - Two Analyzers in One Standalone Package

General Interest Jan 21,2000 0

CD Associates has developed a new two-drive analyzer that will perform a byte-to-byte compare between two discs, while simultaneously analyzing both discs in real-time.

"..CD Associates has developed a new two-drive analyzer that will perform a byte-to-byte compare between two discs, while simultaneously analyzing both discs in real-time. Testing can be done in four minutes or less.

The CDA2002 Multi Drive Analyzer addresses the problem of CD failure at higher speeds. Specifications for CD's were written for 1X speed. In today's market of players up to 40X, a CD being within specifications is no guarantee of its ability to maintain data integrity at high speeds.

In less than four minutes, the new analyzer will test the disc for playability up to 24X; if the CD fails at that speed, it will automatically drop the speed and re-test to report at what speed it will play correctly. This product is a must for CD duplicators and replicators to maintain quality control and satisfied customers. Testing the batch quality of blank CD-R media will also allow high-volume users to save money by using less expensive tested media. The CDA2002 Multi Drive Analyzer's two drives perform byte-to-byte compare between the original source, two CD's simultaneously, single CD's or hard drive file, and the duplicated or replicated disc(s), in the same 4 minutes it takes to test the disc for digital errors.

System Measurements
The system measures BLER, BRST and UNCR errors as well as E11, E21, E31, E12, E22, E32 and also for CD-ROM: L-ECC recoverables, CIRC unrecoverables, and L-ECC unrecoverables (Mode 1). Error types are displayed in both 1 & 10 second running averages.." NULL
