Diamond Multimedia Launches New Diamond Radeon X800 GTO

GPUs Oct 21,2005 0

Diamond Multimedia announced the company has launched the Diamond Viper X800 GTO, which features the ATI Radeon X800 GTO graphics chip set with 256 MB of GDDR3 memory. The Viper X800 GTO combines a 12-pipe 3D engine with 256-bit memory interface and up to 1.18 GHz memory data-rate. It features an efficient single slot design and ATI's image technology, including 3Dc, SmartShader HD, VideoShader HD and HyperZ HD. It has also full-featured multimedia support for digital and analog displays, including HDTV.

"Diamond Tools" is a new video overclocking utility designed by Diamond that will be included in the Viper X800 GTO. The tool allows for overclocking of the video card through the use of a 3D renderer that scans for artifacts and monitors the effects of environmental and GPU temperatures. It then automatically modifies the GPU, video RAM and fan speeds to provide optimum video performance. This tool will be available for Diamond card owners to download at the Diamond website.

The Radeon X800 GTO is a higher end graphics card and is targeted to serious gamers. It will ship with MSRP of $249.99.

Features:

GPU: Radeon X800 GTO
Bus Type: PCI Express x16
Memory: 256 MB GDRR3
ATI graphics technologies
Smooth streamlining playback
Connect to CRT, digital flat panels, TV (VGA, DVI-I, TV-output) and HDTV
