A recent patched firmware found on the net offers increased performance to the LiteOn SOHD-16P9S DVD-ROM reader. The drive can read all the single layer DVDs as well as the DVD-Video DL discs at 16X , while it keeps reading the rest DL media at 12X. Read more about the drive's performance here.
