Freecom releases external Hard drive SL and USB floppy drive

Freecom releases external Hard drive SL and USB floppy drive

General Interest May 25,2004 0

Freecom announced two new external devices: A slimline hard drive and a USB floppy disk drive. The ultra-compact hard drive is quiet and boasts a capacity of 40 GB, while it has a height of 25 mm. The Classic Hard Drive SL can be connected to any PC or notebook in seconds by means of the USB 2.0 or USB1.1 interface, and offers high-speed data transfer rates of up to 480 MB per second (when connected via USB 2.0), enabling rapid access to your data at any time.

Freecom supplies the Classic Hard Drive SL complete with USB 2.0 connection cable, power supply, user manual on CD and the Freecom Personal Media Suite software. The Freecom Classic Hard Drive SL is available in the shops from May 2004 for € 99.99 (recommended retail price), and comes with the usual Freecom 2-year manufacturers warranty and unlimited free helpdesk support.

The second product announced by the company is an external USB floppy disk drive, for those users who still require the use of a floppy drive.

The Freecom external USB floppy disk drive can be used with all notebooks and PCs. Simply connect to the USB port - the drive is immediately detected* and ready for use. Thanks to its very compact dimensions of only 10.2 cm x 14 cm x 1.5 cm (length x width x height), this small, slim drive is easy to take with you. The Freecom USB floppy disk drive also requires no external power supply unit.

Freecom supplies the external USB floppy disk drive with a 90-day trial version of the award-winning F-Secure Anti-Virus & Firewall software and a trial version of Roxio's PhotoSuite image viewing software. Two empty 3.5" HD diskettes and a user manual are also included. The Freecom external USB floppy disk drive is available in the shops from the end of April 2004 for € 39.00 (recommended retail price), and has also the usual Freecom 2-year manufacturers warranty.
