Google To Enter The Living Room Battle With Android TV
It seems like Google will try to seriously shake the home entertainment market with the upcoming Android TV platform, which is rumored to debut soon.
A fresh report from GigaOm claims that the new platform will provide online content from the likes of Hulu and Netflix, and will also include a gaming component.
The platform is expected to be unveiled at Google's I/O developer conference taking place at the end of June.
Android TV is also expected to offer a clean, card-based interface with links to to movies, TV shows, music and games, consistent to the interface currently deployed in Google+.
This interface is known as 'Pano' and references to it have been spotted in the changelog file for Android 4.4.3.
Google TV is also expected to work with the Chromecast plug-in dongle.
