G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5-5600 64GB
3. Conclusion
The G.skill Flare X5 series is designed for the AMD AM5 platform and they include an EXPO profile that will give users the best possible performance they can get, without much hassle and effort. We tested the DDR5-5600 CL36 64GB kit (2x32GB) which not only has great performance but also a very good retail price. The retail package is complete, and you will find inside the two modules and a small printed manual. In order for this memory kit to work best you need to enable the EXPO profile under your motherboard bios and press save, everything is ready now. Using the stock 5600MHz CL36 memory speed, we didn't notice any problems or stability issues.
The Flare X5 series is based upon Samsung Chipsets that will give you good performance numbers, but not-so-good overclocking headroom, compared with the Hynix chipsets. We did have to pump up voltages from 1.25V to 1.40V to get low cache latencies of CL30, which causes high-temperature numbers for the memory banks, so we cannot suggest going that high. The build quality is superb and we liked the matte black finish. The retail price is great as well, we found the G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5-5600 CL36 64GB kit to cost around 200 Euro/USB, which is on par with the competition, however, the G.Skill kit offers lower cache latencies, which will give you some extra % performance. Overall we find this kit to be very affordable and stable and we highly suggest it for AMD users who wish to get high memory kits at a good price level, provided that they don't want fancy RGB lighting, that his kit doesn't include after all. G.skill also offers more kits for the Flare X5 series with DDR5-6000 CL30 1.40V specs in case you find the DDR5-5600 rather boring and slow. As a last note, we have to congratulate G.Skill for its lifetime warranty for all memory products, so you can buy without any worry after all.
