The G.Skill WigiDash is a new addition for users who wish to have external control of their Windows PC System, with a high level of customization and are willing to take some time to adjust things as they wish. The product comes with a 7-inch, 1024x600 resolution, IPS touchscreen, which supports up to 20 different (5x4 matrix) widgets, giving a huge space to play with. The screen can get very bright and in our tests, we kept brightness under 50% in all cases, and in dark rooms, you will need to set the brightness even lower.

The build material is nice and the included plastic stand will keep the device steady for normal use. The connection of the device with a host system is via a USB 3.0 Type-C connection, and the included 1.8m Type-C cable will be useful for those users. Currently, the G.Skill WigiDash supports only Windows operating systems, so no MAC/Linux love here.

There are other competitive products in the market, like the Elgato StreamDeck with many different models and of course different orientations toward users. The Elgato StreamDeck offers better software for amateur users and most importantly tactile button feedback, which the G.Skill WigiDash doesn't, since it uses an IPS touchscreen. On the other side, the G.Skill WigiDash has just been introduced to the market and many features will be added with each software build you can ask for more features over the G.Skill forum as well.

Overall we feel that this device is perfect for users who wish to extend the usability of their PC system and have an external big IPS screen. We wish that even other features will be added in the future, like Video playback or the ability to use this as an external monitor as well. G.Skill commented that "...It may be a possibility. However, since the current display on the WigiDash is a standard widescreen (1024x600px) and not an HD resolution, video quality may be subpar. Mainly due to this reason, we've decided to pause this development until a future date...".

The software needs GUI polish to improve usability but everything works as intended. And for many users, getting information from AIDA64 will be a huge plus as well. For a first try, we find the G.Skill WigiDash to be an honest product and greatly priced at $129.99
