Intel Starts Shipping The 510 Series Of SSDs
Intel today started shipping the new 6Gbps SATA 510 series
of SSDs.
The 2.5-inch drives are available to Intel's OEMs in
capacities of 120GB ($254) and 250GB ($584).
The drives are using 34nm MLC NAND flash memory. The 250 GB model is featuring a sequential read performance 450MB/sec, 300MB/sec for sequential write, a 4KB random read performance of 20,000 IOPS and a 4KB random write performance of 5,000 IOPS. The 120GB version is slower - 400MB/sec for sequential reading and 200MB/sec for writing .
The SSDs are using the Marvell 88SS9174-BKK2 controller.
