The increased capacity and the very handy capacity-meter of the new Lexar JumpDrive Secure II Plus USB flash drive are definitely the two elements that characterize it. The 16GB of available storage could be enough for your everyday storage needs while on the go or even in the office. The built-in capacity meter is very handy since you get an idea of the remaining space at a glance, without needing to attach the drive to the PC.

The reading/writing performance of the drive should be considered as low, with the benchmark give 20MB/sec for read and just 11MB/sec for write. This means that so that means it will take some extra time to backup or read from the disk to a host, especially when you deal with multiple small files.

The pre-installed SecureII software is simple and fast to use, especially if you are concerned about privacy and you carry important data. The Dmail software (trail) works just fine and could be used to easily synchronize your emails of files among different systems.

All these "extras" are welcomed and makes this product quite attractive. However, we expected a better read/write performance from the drive. If the performance is an important factor for you, then you may do a quick search over the online shops and find other solutions at the same price tag ( €60). Otherwise, the "gadget" character of the new Lexar JumpDrive Secure II Plus USB flash drive could easily grab your interest.
