MediaTek to Showcase New Products and Technologies at CES
MediaTek will demonstrate new products and technologies at CES including its LTE modem and mobile SoC's for LTE smartphones with wireless charging, wearables and 4K TVs.
The MediaTek MT6290 is an LTE Release 9 Category 4 modem built on the 28nm process with a wireless baseband processor based on the Coresonic SIMT architecture. It is fully compatible with MediaTek SOCs, including the new octa-core MT6592.
Complemented by an optimized ARM big.LITTLE processing subsystem, MediaTek MT8135 is a mobile SOC designed for high-end tablets.
Launched in November 2013, MediaTek MT6592 is the first heterogeneous computing SOC with scalable eight-core processing for multi-tasking, multimedia and high performance-per-watt.
MediaTek will also showcase an Ultra HD (4K2K) DTV SOC with 60Hz HEVC support, which will make available to its customers in Q2 2014.
Already available, MediaTek MT7621A is a new dual-core 11ac Wi-Fi router platform with various hardware acceleration features designed as a universal foundation for a range of applications. It serves as a getaway for Wi-Fi Certified Passpoint technology and its secure automated entry of user credentials for public wireless hotspots.
The Taiwanese company will also debut the first multimode inductive Qi and resonance wireless charging SOC.
MediaTek will also present "the smallest SOC in the world," currently powering Omate True Smart.
Lasy but not least, the company will present Aster, an "all-in-one" SoC for wearables, at CES. Aster combines a small size with a comprehensive application framework, according to the company.
