Microsoft Launches Delve For Office 365

Microsoft Launches Delve For Office 365

Enterprise & IT Sep 8,2014 0

Microsoft has made a s step forward in making Office 365 even more personalized and tailored to each person with the release of Office Delve (previously codenamed "Oslo") to the company's Office 365 business customers. Microsoft claims Delve, a new Office 365 product, will know which content is important to you before you do. It relies on Microsoft's Office Graph technology, which uses machine-learning to track the links among people, content, and activities across Office 365 applications. Using insights derived from these relationship maps, the app presents a personalized "news feed" for each user that "displays the content most relevant for each person based on the work they are doing and the people with whom they are engaging," Office GM Julia White wrote in a blog post.

All of this is presented in a card-based design. It also presents intuitive ways to view content, so you no longer have to remember where stuff is stored or who shared it with you. And, of course, Delve only enables you to view content you have access and permission to view.

Office Graph currently incorporates content and signals from email, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online and Yammer. Over the coming months Microsoft will continue to integrate signals and content sources, such as email attachments, OneNote and Lync.

WIth Delve, instead of having to dig through email, search on Yammer, or explore SharePoint and OneDrive for Business to find the right stuff, you can use Delve to have the right information delivered to you.

Microsoft released a video explaining how Office Graph works and teasing the Delve UI.
