Data CD Reading Tests

- Pressed CD results (Click for CDSpeed results)

In the graph above, we can see that the drive was the fastest among the two other, while managed to confirm the manufacturer's specifications. The difference of 2x is not negligible.

The reported seek times for the Mitsumi drive were quite good for all modes. However the drive was behind Sony and Teac.

- CD-R results (Click for CDSpeed results)

We made a copy of the previous, pressed CD in order to test the drive's behavior with a CD-R media. As in the previous test the Mitsumi drive was the fastest.

This time Mitsumi was better than Teac, in comparison with the previous test. Sony had again the better seek times.

- ReWritable Media (Click for CDSpeed results)

For the reading test we used 24x High Speed rewritable media from Mitsubishi Chemicals.

In this test Mitsumi had the second fast speed, behind Sony, due to the supported 32x reading for rewritable media.
