So how does this mouse feel? For sure it's much heavier than the Makalu 67, which is almost half the weight. We feel that with the Makalu Max, MOUNTAIN designers had in mind mice like the Logitech MX series and tried to make a hybrid mouse, that actually can be transformed from a "normal sized" mouse to a much bigger mouse for those who have big hands and simply want an ergonomic design. The build quality is top, we didn't have any issues during testing or playing games with it. The weight mechanism is unique in its concept and if you like heavy mice, this have you covered. The included sensor does seem to perform very well and tracking was very good, we don't have any complaints or major issues to report.

The performance was better with the included 2m braided cable, while for office use the included 2.4GHz adapter if you have many obstacles may show some glitches, when we moved it in line of sight, those glitches were eliminated. We already knew the Base Camp software and while many are complaining for us did work as advertised. Maybe we would like an option to have the battery % at our bottom left area as an icon for quick checking it. The ability to swap the sides for more magnetic ergonomic grips is nice to have, and for sure you will try it 1-2 times to find your liking. The included micro switches are very nice to press and use, no complaints here. The included battery is supposed to be around 1000mAh, which with serious use will get till the end of the day. We feel that the Makalu Max should be considered as a wired mouse with wireless capabilities, since charging every day your mouse is rather annoying. The retail package is complete and you feel that you are getting a well-designed product in your hands. The included 2m braided cable has very good quality and it's very light as well. MOUNTAIN also gives for free the STL files for the user to make their own 3D prints and change the colours of the swappable side panels.

There are so many mice on the market, but the Makalu Max has a new proposal for you if you like quality products at a proper price. This time of year, MOUNTAIN sells the Makalu Max at a reduced price of 69.99 Euro, making it very attractive to our eyes and easy to recommend for users who wish a wired mouse (with wireless features) and the option to add weights/change its shape for better ergonomy and in general health. The warranty is 2 years as with all electronics and currently the Makalu Max is being sold only in black color. If your main goal is to play games, the Makalu 67 is probably a better use, and perhaps we would wait in the future for a Makalu 67 Wireless to compete with another famous gaming mouse from Logitech and other vendors.
