After almost one year since the Apple HomePod went on sale, Apple has cut the price of its smart speaker, in order to better compete with other players.
HomePod, until today, cost $349. Now, it’s $299 in the U.S.
The price cut is a rare move for Apple, which typically lowers the prices of its products as soon as they are about to be replaced. And that is not the case for the HomePod.
Of course, you can still find promotions onlide, such as the $279.99 offer available at Best Buy.
The HomePod offers a great sound compared to rivals, espacially if you use other Apple devices like the iPhone or iPad, and you are an Apple Music subscriber. On the other hand, Siri still needs some work.
But most importantly, smart speakers are available from under $50 and there are relatively few at the upper end of the market. These include the Google Home Max which sells for $399.
