New external Dual DVD-Burner from Freecom

With the new FX-50, Freecom has brought out a new range of external CD and DVD drives to replace the Portable II series. The FX-50 is an external 4x Dual DVD+/-RW burner, and can be connected by USB 2.0 and FireWire. The Freecom FX-50 will be available from shops from the beginning of July The 4x DVD+/-RW burner can write a standard DVD in just 15 minutes, and DVDs are rewritten at 2.4x speed. CDs are written at 16x speed and rewritten at 10x speed. The drive also has a 12x DVD reading speed and a 40x speed when reading CDs. The FX-50 comes in a dark grey business look. The external DVD+/-RW drive is simple to install, being connected to the USB 2.0 or the FireWire interface with all connecting cables supplied - for maximum performance on any PC, Notebook or Mac. The power supply comes from the power supply unit also included in the package.

Freecom supplies the FX-50 DVD+/-RW complete with USB 2.0 and FireWire connection cables and a comprehensive software package. In addition to the latest Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.3 for PC and the writing software Toast 5.2 for Mac, the package also includes the movie playback software PowerDVD from Cyberlink and a full version of the Ulead Video Studio 6 video editor software. Also included are: one DVD+RW (4.7 GB) and CD-R (700 MB), a CD marker pen and the multi-lingual manual. The Freecom FX-50 DVD+/-RW is available in the shops from the beginning of July 2003 at a price of 419,- Euro (recommended retail price). Freecom gives its usual 2-year manufacturer's guarantee.
