LG Electronics released a new Minibeam" light-emitting diode (LED) projector that delivers an 80inch-cinematic size within a mere 33-centimeter (13 inch) distance. The PH450U, which also packs a TV function, can be wirelessly mirrored to a PC, smartphone or a tablet.

It just needs about one-tenth of the distance that conventional projectors require in order to display content on a wall. For example, a 40-inch projection requires a 7.4-centimeter space between the projector and the wall.

The projector's battery lasts for up to two and a half hours, long enough for a movie. The projector retails in South Korea for 790,000 won ($675) - half the price of LG's previous model, and offers full high definition (HD) resolution (1,280×720) with a 450 Lumen brightness.
