Nokia Unveils Three New Phones

Nokia Unveils Three New Phones

Smartphones Jun 1,2007 0

Nokia said on Thursday it would introduce three new phone models to its line-up, two of them mid-range and one at the higher end of the market. The Nokia 6500 Classic is a thin 3G-enabled phone for fast downloads and browsing and quad-band GSM for worldwide roaming, an 1 GB of internal memory, a micro-USB connector as well as a 2 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and an integrated music player. The 9.5 mm thick phone, one of Nokia's thinnest, is expected to hit the stores in the third quarter and retail for 320 euros ($430) before taxes and subsidies, Nokia said.

The 6500 Slide is a 3G phone with a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a stainless steel body. It features an autofocus function and a dual LED flash and 8x digital zoom. In addition, a TV-out jack allows them to be instantly viewed on any television with standard RCA inputs. The 6500 Slide is expected to sell for 370 euros, starting in the third quarter.

The Nokia 8600 Luna is a design-driven stainless steel and glass phone with a 2 megapixel camera. Nokia's first use of a single micro-USB port allows owners to streamline common activities - like charging, audio and data connectivity - into a single connection. Quad-band GSM support also allows owners to stay connected while they are on the road.

It is expected to retail, starting in the current quarter, for around 700 euros before taxes and subsidies, Nokia said.
