OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro Released
The newest OnePlus flagship comes with wireless charging, 120Hz screen, 5G, Wi-Fi 6? Check and a quad-camera system.
OnePlus announced the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones.
The premium flagship OnePlus 8 Pro model features a QHD+ 120Hz Fluid AMOLED 6.78-inch display, runs on the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and has up to 12GB RAM.
The device has a rear quad-camera setup with two 48MP sensors (main camera and ultra-wide lens), a 5MP a telephoto lens, and another 8MP a color filter camera. The ultra-wide lens includes a 120-degree angle, and the telephoto supports 3x hybrid, and 30x digital zoom. The new color filter camera supports lighting effects and filters for photography. OnePlus is also claiming it has improved night time photos, and the company even compared a photo from an iPhone 11 Pro to the new OnePlus 8 Pro during its online event today.
On the front, it has a punch-hole camera for clicking selfies.
Inside there’s up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage, and Wi-Fi 6 support. OnePlus is also including an IP68 rating for the OnePlus 8 Pro, meaning it should be dust resistant and be dunked in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
OnePlus 8 Pro has a 4510mAh battery which is 10% bigger than the battery capacity of OnePlus 7T Pro. It also has the reverse charging feature for powering up other devices.
OnePlus is also finally supporting 30W “Warp Charge” wireless charging, which will provide 50 percent battery in just 30 minutes. Regular 5W Qi charges will also work.
The smartphone will be shipped with Android 10 out of the box and will be available in Ultramarine Blue, Onyx Black, and Glacial Green color options.
OnePlus has also included the IP68 rating in its smartphone.
OnePlus 8 Pro also bundles 100GB Google Cloud storage, 3 months free trial of Google One Cloud storage and also brings Stadia compatibility.
OnePlus 8 Pro has been priced at $899 for 8GB, 128GB variant and $999 for 12GB, 256GB variant.
Alongside the hardware, there’s also improvements to the OxygenOS Android implementation on the new handsets. OnePlus claims there are 280 “new optimizations” that are designed to make the Android experience more smooth on the 120Hz or 90Hz displays. There’s also a new dark theme and dynamic wallpapers that change with the weather.
The second device annoucned today, the OnePlus 8, comes with a 6.55-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display and is powered by the same Snapdragon 865 processor that features in the OnePlus 8 Pro.
In the camera department, OnePlus 8 has three cameras on the rear- 48MP sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide sensor, and an 8MP sensor. On the front, OnePlus has included a punch-hole selfie camera.
OnePlus 8 is also available in Interstellar Glow color.
OnePlus 8 has been priced at $699 for 8GB, 128GB variant and $799 for 12GB, 256GB variant.

In addition to the two smartphones, OnePlus has also announced Warp Charge 30 wireless charger and OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earbuds at the launch event.
The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z will cost $49.95.
The Bullets Wireless Z only need a 10-minute charge to offer up to 10 hours of audio playback, according to OnePlus, and they can get up to 20 hours of battery life on a full charge.
They come with a 9.2mm dynamic driver and super bass tone fitted in each earbud. Features like Quick Switch, Quick Pair and Magnetic Control add convenience and simplicity while you are listening to your music.

The Bullets Wireless Z also have a IP55 rating, meaning they should be able to withstand light rain. And like the Bullets Wireless and Bullets Wireless 2, the Bullets Wireless Z have magnets on the back of each bud, so you can snap the buds together to hang them around your neck like a necklace.
