Data CD Reading Tests
- Pressed CD results (Click for CDSpeed results)
The Pioneer DVR-S706 supports up to 40X reading speed. Below are the transfer rate graphs:
The drive has an acceptable transfer rate and the seek times are good except for the full seek time which is a little high.- CD-R results (Click for CDSpeed results)
We made a copy of the previous pressed CD in order to test the drive's behavior with CD-R media. As with the previous test, the Pioneer and its twin, the DVR-107D, exhibit very similar results.
The resulting seek times are close to those with pressed CD.
- ReWritable Media (Click for CDSpeed results)
For the reading test we used 24x Ultra Speed rewritable media from Mitsubishi Chemicals.
No differences here also between the external and the internal drive.
