The showcase includes:
Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF Systems
Building on the world’s most advanced 5G modem-RF system, Qualcomm Technologies now showcases how it is continuing to extend capabilities with the new Snapdragon X70 through advancements in 5G+AI, expanded mmWave configurations, 5G spectrum aggregation and 5G global multi-SIM.
5G + AI
Snapdragon X70 introduces the world’s first 5G AI processor integrated in a 5G Modem-RF System. This demonstration provides a first look at how the Qualcomm® 5G AI Suite in Snapdragon X70 harnesses the power of integrated AI to enable breakthrough 5G performance needed to fuel the connected intelligent edge.
Qualcomm® 5G AI Suite: showcasing innovative AI-powered modem-RF techniques including AI-based channel-state feedback, AI-based beam management for improved 5G speeds, coverage, mobility and robustness.
5G mmWave
Qualcomm Technologies played a pivotal role in making 5G mmWave possible in commercial 5G systems and continues to drive its evolution. We illustrate how 5G mmWave devices, powered by Snapdragon, unlock extreme 5G capacity and throughput.
5G mmWave expanding ecosystem: in a showcase of HONOR Demo Phone and a modified Xiaomi smartphone featuring 5G mmWave and connected to ZTE infrastructure using 5G standalone dual connectivity, we show peak speeds beyond 8 Gbps through aggregation of 4x200 MHz mmWave spectrum in the n258 (28 GHz) band. This allows for further expansion of 5G mmWave commercialization around the world.
5G Spectrum Aggregation
5G carrier aggregation in downlink and uplink, as well as 5G switched uplink, enable enhanced average speeds, and more robust connections in challenging conditions, such as cell edge far from the cellular base stations. Four new demonstrations showcase our latest series of milestones to offer the most comprehensive 5G sub-6 GHz carrier aggregation support in our Snapdragon Modem-RF Systems.
5G 4-carrier sub-6 aggregation: a key capability in the new Snapdragon X70 Mobile-RF system. We demonstrate leading-edge 4-carrier downlink aggregation across bands n41 (2.5 GHz), n25 (1.9 GHz) and n66 (2.1 GHz) using a smartphone form-factor test device.
5G standalone downlink carrier aggregation: cutting edge 3-carrier downlink aggregation with FDD + 2xTDD configuration (n1 + 2x n78) is demonstrated in commercial OPPO Find X5 Pro phone and a modified Xiaomi smartphone connected to commercial Ericsson energy-efficient and performance-optimized RAN with versatile, coverage-boosting carrier aggregation software, illustrating Snapdragon X70 support for unmatched performance and flexibility.
5G standalone uplink carrier aggregation: we showcase ultimate flexibility and uplink performance in this first demonstration of 2-carrier uplink FDD (n1) + TDD (n78) aggregation using vivo X series and a modified Xiaomi smartphone enabled by ZTE infrastructure.
5G standalone switched uplink: support for switched uplink in Snapdragon X70 complements uplink carrier aggregation, allowing operators to achieve peak upload speeds by switching between TDD and FDD. We demonstrate this in a smartphone form-factor test device connected to ZTE infrastructure.
5G Global multi-SIM
5G global multi-SIM allows users to maintain separate work and personal accounts, and access cost-effective local networks during international travel while keeping access to their regular home subscriptions. This year, we show how the global 5G multi-SIM solution in Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF Systems is maximizing connectivity to various network combinations, enabling phones to be compatible to multiple dual network configurations simultaneously.
Qualcomm Technologies provides a true global 5G multi-SIM solution including Dual-SIM Dual-Active (DSDA) and 5G mmWave support, which enable superior user experiences.
World’s first standalone 5G + 5G dual-SIM, dual-active (DSDA): a key capability in the new Snapdragon X70 Mobile-RF system. Using a modified Xiaomi smartphone, we demonstrate an active DSDA call with concurrent connections to ZTE commercial networks (n78 + n41) – enabling video streaming and 5G voice (VoNR) experiences simultaneously. This demonstration showcases our latest in a series of milestones to support global 5G multi-SIM and highlights how we have expanded capabilities in Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF Systems, allowing devices to connect simultaneously to different 5G standalone networks using two different subscriptions.
Qualcomm 5G RAN Platforms
Qualcomm 5G RAN Platforms are designed to power a new generation of flexible, virtualized and interoperable cellular networks worldwide – with infrastructure vendor traction proved through recent announcements with Fujitsu Limited, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Mavenir, NEC, NTT DOCOMO Inc., Rakuten Symphony, and others. New demonstrations show how adoption of this virtualized and interoperable model will make wireless infrastructure a new platform for innovation.
Qualcomm® Private Network RAN Management: an introduction to new cloud-hosted software solution designed to plan, deploy, provision, and manage a 5G private networks enabled by Qualcomm 5G RAN Platforms – including zero-touch provisioning and operation.
End-to-end private network: our first demonstration of live 5G private network operating in Qualcomm headquarters, Qualcomm Private Network RAN Management and infrastructure powered by Qualcomm 5G RAN Platforms.
