Ricoh announces DVD+R and 32x media at CeBIT 2002

Ricoh announces DVD+R and 32x media at CeBIT 2002

General Interest Mar 11,2002 0

Ricoh is one of the few suppliers worldwide who are not only developing and producing DVD+RW/+R and CD-R/RW writers, but also system-compatible, high-quality media. The current product range of DVD+RW and CD-R/RW blanks will be expanded by two new products for the CeBIT 2002. The once-writable Ricoh DVD+R for data & video was developed especially for the DVD+R format. The Ricoh DVD+R meets all technical requirements of this future-oriented standard and offers ever higher levels of compatibility. The storage volume of the single-side coated Ricoh DVD+R is 4.7GB, writing speeds of up to 2.4 are supported, corresponding to a speed of 20x for CD-R or CD-RW. Thus, it is the ideal storage medium for large volumes of digital data such as videos, image and sound data, backups etc., for which security is a major concern. The DVD+R is writable only once and therefore it cannot be inadvertently overwritten or deleted.

The Ricoh DVD+R is available for delivery from April 2002. The MSR price is not yet available.

With the CD-R80 32x, also introduced at the CeBIT 2002, Ricoh engineers follow the trends towards faster and faster writing speeds in the CD-R sector. The new CD-R medium with a capacity of 700MB is suitable for high speed writers with up to 32x writing speed. The high bandwidth of 1x-32x makes this high-quality Ricoh CD-R an ideal storage blank for the currently fastest writers of the latest generation. Beyond that, quality-conscious, demanding power users will profit from the extremely long service life of the Ricoh CD-R80 and the resulting security for their valuable digital data. Aside from these innovations, Ricoh will display ist entire classical product range of CD-R/RW media at the CeBIT.

The Ricoh CD-R80 1x-32x is available immediately. The MSR price is 0.89 Euro for each CD-R.
