Samsung Introduces The Milk Music Free Radio Service

Samsung Introduces The Milk Music Free Radio Service

Smartphones Mar 7,2014 0

Samsung on Friday unveiled a new free music service for its Galaxy phones - the Milk Music. Milk Music is a free and ad-free radio service. It includes over 200 stations and 13 million songs. It's designed to be fast, easy to use and highly customizable.

Milk Music has a distinctive dial design. The dial displays up to nine genre-based stations featuring a variety of music listening choices.

The "Spotlight" feature offers a continuous curated selection of songs and albums handpicked by music tastemakers and influencers. "My Stations" allows you to create personal stations based on your favorite songs and albums, accessible on the dial. Milk Music also allows you six song skips per hour per station.

Offering more personalization options, the "Fine-Tune Station" feature allows you to adjust the genre-based station based on popularity and song favorites.

Milk also maintains a history of songs played for users to look up.

Milk Music powered by Slacker is available now exclusively for owners of Galaxy devices to download on Google Play on the Galaxy S 4, Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note 3, and Galaxy Note II across all carrier and retail channels as well as the Galaxy S 5 in April.

Samsung also promised to offer unique music programming from top selling and emerging artists "soon".

Milk is targeted at competing music service like Apple's iTunes Radio service, which is available for free with ads and ad-free for US$24.99 via the iTunes Match service. Samsung is not yet providing an option to buy music, but this could be an option for the future.
