Samsung Electronics America and NOOK Media today introduced the 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK, a new large-screen version of the tablet that combines Samsung’s technology and NOOK’s content. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK 10.1-inch tablet is available starting today in Barnes & Noble bookstores and online at www.bn.com and www.nook.com, launching at an introductory price of $299.99 and including more than $200 in free content from the NOOK Store.

Compared to the smaller 7-inch model, the 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK has the same 1280x800 display, but the larger size means that its now just 149 ppi. It is also powered by a faster 1.2 GHz Qualcomm APQ 8026 processor and accepts a larger, up to 64GB microSD card. Its weigh is at 17.28 ounces and its width is at 9.58 inches, making it easy to be to hold.

10.1-inch Nook buyers will be first to use Samsung's latest software for the tablets. The update, which will roll out to 7-inch models next month, promises a "cleaner visual design" and more immersive shopping experience.
