Sony Showcases Android-based Walkman Prototype At IFA 2011
Sony has on display a "Walkman" portable music player prototype at
IFA 2011. The device is based on Android software platform.
Sony has not disclosed release and pricing details for the device,
which has a chassis similar to that of Sony Ericsson's "Xperia arc"
smartphone and has a 4.3-inch touch-sensitive LCD panel (800 x 640).
In addition to a function to play music, it can play music streamed
from Sony's "Music Unlimited" music distribution service using a
wireless LAN function.
The player is also suporting DLNA connectivity with compatible devices, it is able to reproduce video and images, and is also compatible with Android Apps.
