Soundpeats Air 5
2. Retail Package
The Air5 retail box is minimalist and focused on essentials. It costs around 75 Euro and can be ordered directly from the official website. There is only the black version available right now, while in past SoundPeats offered four colors Black / White / Purple / Beige.

Opening the box unveils its contents

, there is only the main product and a Type-C charging short cable.

From a daily-use perspective, the packaging itself is less important than the case ergonomics: Air5 uses a compact case (56 × 51 × 26mm), at the front you will find the SoundPeats logo

While at the bottom, you will find the charging port (Type-C) and a power button.

Opening the carrying case unveils the product and its contents. Inside you will find both earplugs with protective plastic wrap that users should remove before using. Each earplug weighs around 3.8gr the weight of the product with both earbuds and the charging case is around 44.56gr. The product is noticed as black, but in reality, the shiny areas and the case go to the navy blue hue. There are L and R marks upon them, so thats the proper way to wear them. The overall build quality is very good.

Each earbud has 35mAh and the charging case has 400mAh capacity. The charging time is around 120mins for a full charge (inside the charging case), while the charging case alone can be charged at 90mins. The product with the charging case should last around 24 hours of continuous playtime according to the official specs. The case has a spring-loaded clamshell design that snaps firmly closed and both earbuds are attached magnetically when you insert them for charging. On the front of the case, there is a button for displaying the battery level via a colored LED: green (70%+), yellow (20%+), or red (<20%). When charging, the LED gets adjusted to green (50%+), yellow (10%+), or red (<10%).

The product supports Bluetooth v5.4, which there is Bluetooth v6.0 protocol at the market, which should reduce overall power consumption, increase range, and improve security as well. The product supports HFP/A2DP/AVRCP BT profiles, the used chipset is Qualcomm’s QCC3091.
The QCC3091 has been designed to deliver rich sound experiences in a size optimized package for mid-tier true wireless earbuds. QCC3091 offers Qualcomm Voice and Music Extension Program, support for Snapdragon Sound technology suite with Qualcomm aptX Lossless 24-bit 48kHz music streaming and improved DAC designed for audiophile quality. Qualcomm positions this chip as a mid-tier true-wireless platform with increased compute and audio processing headroom, designed to support richer feature sets and improved voice/noise processing compared to older mid-tier designs. In practical terms, QCC3091 is the enabling layer behind codec negotiation (aptX Adaptive), multipoint behavior, and DSP features used for call processing (e.g., CVC-style noise reduction). The supported Supported Bluetooth Codecs are AAC/SBC & aptX Adaptive Lossless.
Snapdragon Sound is not a single codec toggle. It is a systems approach: phone + earbuds negotiate compatible codecs and profiles, and Qualcomm’s stack aims to improve robustness, latency, and voice quality across the link.
For the user, the most visible outcome is typically a more stable connection under load, lower latency modes for video/gaming, and access to higher quality Bluetooth codecs—assuming the phone supports them.
On the other hand, aptX Adaptive is designed to scale bitrate and latency to maintain a stable stream in changing RF conditions. As conditions worsen, the link can trade quality for stability rather than dropping out. Because of this adaptive behavior, you should treat ‘lossless’ as conditional: it depends on the phone’s codec support, distance, and RF congestion. Lastly, Bluetooth 5.4 is a modern baseline and is also associated with the industry shift toward LE Audio. Whether LE Audio features appear in daily use depends on product firmware and ecosystem maturity. For Air5 owners today, BT 5.4 is best interpreted as a stability and platform maturity marker rather than a single headline feature.
