Activist investor Starboard on Thursday ended its proxy fight at eBay by withdrawing its four director nominees four days after the ecommerce company named a new chief executive.

Following the hiring of Jamie Iannone as eBay’s new CEO, Starboard has withdrawn its nomination of director candidates for election at eBay’s 2020 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. The company anticipates holding the 2020 Annual Meeting in June.

In addition, eBay expects to name a new independent director to its Board in the next few months and, as part of its evaluation process of potential director candidates, it will consider the individuals Starboard nominated.

Starboard, which owns roughly 1% of eBay’s stock, last month moved ahead with its proxy fight after months of private negotiations in order to publicly push eBay to bring in an outsider as its permanent chief executive. Starboard also pressed for a sale of eBay’s classifieds advertising business.
